This place is a great neighborhood bar. It's got everything! Friendly staff, laid back atmosphere, 100+ whiskey menu, great rotation of beers on tap, board games, centipede, and "These Guys" food cart out back. Check it out, and ask them about their whiskey club! :)
It wasn't that the "emotionally unstable" bartender overcharged me, it happens, no big deal. It was the fact that when i questioned him on it he turned it into an unnecessary public forum, ranting, and putting on a very loud production for everyone in the bar, trying to make me out to be the asshole for even questioning the pretentious dipshit. Instead of just dealing directly with me like a professional civilized adult. However, as i was preparing to leave he quietly placed a stack of money by me without even an apology. thanks dick.
My girlfriend and I went here on her birthday last month with a couple friends. The *off-duty* head bartender was there, completely plastered, weaved over to some of our group. One of the women with us took exception to something he said or did and the guy goes berserk - cursing, ranting about how we had to get out of "his" bar, spittle flying from his mouth.
I tried to smooth things over, but he was drunk beyond reasoning - ended with him barking his fetid breath in my face and telling me he'll kick my ass, being restrained by a couple regulars, etc, until we just went home. It was decidedly *not* cool. Since then I've been told he does that sort of thing regularly. Shame, cuz otherwise it's an alright little place right down the street from us...
This lace could be an alright neighborhood haunt but it is plagued by an emotionally unstable sometimes bartender. On several occasions I have witnessed him harass and cuss out customers for seemingly no reason. It kind of puts a damper on the night and is very unprofessional considering the fellow is generally sauced and just trying to assist the fully capable female bartender on duty. Bottom line, enter at your own risk
Friendly, good service, not too hard to park, great spot to watch some futbol with a crowd that knows the game.
I disagree with Dave, there is something special about this place. It's called the Whiskey Club. The general outline of the club is, you get a card, you have one year to drink 50? whiskey's, 5 have to be scotch and 5 have to be rye's . After that you get a $1 off whiskey for life? And a t-shirt. The beer taps always rotate and there's always a discounted whiskey of the day.
Nothing particularly special about this place, but it was a great spot to watch multiple games (college football). Beer was cheap and the people were nice. Food was ok. People obviously knew each other here, which was cool.
Key word here being 'little'. I don't think I've seen many bars this small. I think it would hold almost 50 people, but there were only ten when I went last week. That includes the bartender and the dj. Great DJ on Thursday nights. The drinks were good, the prices fair, and the service great. The Very friendly 'crowd' welcomed everyone who came in and the few they could entice in that were just walking by.
