BarFly's Review of Lion's Eye Tavern

Hours: Noon to 2:30am daily.

Former tweaker den on 82nd restored into one hell of a friendly neighborhood tavern. To quote the friendly locals (and occasional ne'er do wells flush from the adjacent pawn shop) who wander in "I can't believe this is the same place...". Excellent smoking patio, beers from 2$ regularly. Caveat - no parking.

2x Pool Tables (free on Sundays), Internet Juke, 1x Megatouch, 2x Pinball, 3x Flatscreen, art for sale.

They also have a trivia night!

Hours: Noon-close (usually 1am on weekdays, 2am weekends)

Awsome bar

this place is awsome from the moment u walk in, the carona bottles as vases to the art work hand made on the wall to the chalk in the bathroom so u can leave something great. I would have never guessed this whole to be as sweet as it is and although on a buissy nigh the bartender could use some extra help shes amazing and always easy to talk too!! If beer is ur thing she will let u try every uniqu brand shes got, i sugest the velvet(dark/winter) tyhe patio is huge dicore just as nice out as in and the crowed not at all the tweeks freaks and geeks that used to come in, its all hippy college some older and all chill!! I will tell u come check it out but lets keep this between friend, we dont want too many ppl stealing all the good spots!! Thank you for makin my bar-tender!!

awesome

The bartenders here are heaven sent. I came in sad and pissy and left with a fulfilled feeling, as if the cosmos was entirely on my side. Beauties to behold.

Beyond all that, my needs in beverages were anticipated in an artfully impeccable manner. I was introduced to local barflies and newbies alike, given a sense of community and camaraderie at the very moment I needed it most.

The overall vibe of the environment was perfect, and I know that I will be there time and time again. I can't wait to try their food.

I'm so glad that this is my local spot.

Lion's Eye

The staff is super-friendly, the wifi is free, the beer is decently priced, and it's biking distance from my house. I have a new favorite hangout.

The Lions Eye Tavern

All I can say is, this place is a great spot for cold beer, cute girls and great conversation. with free wi-fi, Blazer cable and a covered smoking patio, it's the place to hang. But don't take my word for it, stop by this new bar on 82nd and Woodstock and see for yourself.

The Lion's Eye Tavern

This is a kick-ass new bar in SE PDX!!! Anyone who ever set foot in the old "Becken's Winning Hand" on the NW corner of 82nd and Woodstock, recalls, above all else -- the overwhelming stench that permeated the establishment . . . then came the scandal surrounding their demise . . . and the barring of the tweeker-community from their doorstep.

Some months have passed, and with them a passing of the baton to the indomitable, if not completely adorable, Erin Wagner, with a new name (The Lion's Eye), new carpet, fresh paint, local art, and a heart as big as the bar in her chest. Knowing instinctively how to appeal to those inclined toward a good time she has handpicked a crew of the hottest little bartenders this side of the Mississippi!! And come up with creative ways to bide her time until hard liquor begins to pour, customizing her own specialty list of Sake-based cocktails, with martinis, margaritas and other such yummy concoctions.

No longer, upon entrance does one feel an overwhelming urge to throw up a little in their mouth. Rather, they are struck with a bit of an upper-west-side ambiance, an Hawthornesque atmosphere.

The Lion's Eye currently boasts two free pool tables, happy hour from 3 to 7 every day, free wi-fi, a quaint back patio with cover and plenty of seating, an ATM and Blazer cable.

Stop by for a friendly chat with aforementioned hotties, cold beers and a great time!!!

Signed, a new convert to this great little establishment!!

Lions Eye

Wow, way to turn a crappy bar into a sweet ass place to hang out. I really like the vibe I get when I walk in. I have to say I really enjoy the staff, the free pool, and the cool patio. It's nice to have a place to smoke and drink at, I hate having to stand in frount of bars and smoke outside with no beer. I like the prices, you cant go wrong with cheap beer. I feel really welcome when I walk in this bar, I like that feeling.
