BarFly's Review of The Liberty Glass
Dubbed "The horniest bar in Portland," the Liberty Glass is brought to you by PDX staples, via Columbus, Ohio, Rose and Jason McCormick. Adorned by what must be a decade in the making collection of antlers and cleverly placed chandeliers, The Glass oozes the charm that is the owners.
Signature cocktails span the spectrum of drinks, from classics to the housemade Pear Kombucha - muddled lemon with vodka and pear brandy on the rocks. The menu comprises of relatively simple food with a twist. Take for example nachos on Triscuits, bitches! And! Served on Coleman camping dishes... Also to try, the homemade cinnamon chocolate served with pretzel sticks, worthy of any dessert venue in town. This venture kicks the shit out of anything that's graced "The Pink House" since Lovely Hula Hands.

The Libery Glass is simple and comfortable. Not all the menu items are winners, but you'll find something you like. Triscuit nachos are a little weird. But the cheese plate and the salad with beets and potato pancakes (called the beet salad, I think) are crazy delicious. Fun cocktails and good wine selections. Basically, a friendly and unassuming neighborhood bar. Good for showing out-of-towners a pleasant Portland evening. A nice place to be when it's raining - very cozy.
The liberty glass is a great place for my wife and I to hide away when we get that rare chance. Great staff. Cozy room. Good snacks. Great new patio seating as well.
The Liberty Glass is by far one of the most original places in Portland. The atmosphere is great, service terrific, and animals are welcomed. The over the rainbow mac and cheese is my my favorite with some Kombucha Vodka. So healthy,ha! The owners are inviting and if I could I would be there every night.
I liked the place, but it's so small and the ceiling is so low that the noise level can become intolerable.
Having said that, I think the food, drinks, and service is first rate.
From the outside this place looks so cute! Walk inside and it is just fantastic. Both upstairs and downstairs have a really great feel. Look at the menu and it's fairly basic so you expect them to take these BASICS to the next level. Don't judge a book by it's cover! It is hard to believe that such a great looking place serves such boring food. If you are going to have a meatball sandwich or grilled cheese on the menu make it different! Don't insult the patrons by serving them a side of ruffles. Not the worst meal I have had but definitely the most boring.
