Massive dancefloor is one of Portland's largest, loudest, and most high-tech, with serious light effects and laser shows. Adjoining lounge is drenched in flattering red lights, all the better for closing the deal. Crowd is hit or miss, as is the service. Pool x1

My wife and I (also a woman) got married yesterday. We know we can't do that legally here yet, but we signed our domestic partnership and had friends and family fly from around the country to celebrate our love with us. We wore white dresses, had a minister perform a ceremony, had a reception, and had planned months in advance to have our entire after party moved to CC Slaughters. We have been there many times in the past, and always been welcomed as gay women. We had a wonderful day and evening, until our limo driver dropped us off at CC Slaughters.
The doorman looked at us, both in our white dresses, and would not allow us in. I thought he was kidding. It turns out that he wasn't. He pointed out the sign showing their attire policy - it said that bachelorette parties were not allowed - and that we were going to "offend the clientele." We tried to explain that we had just gotten married, that we were gay, and that we just wanted to celebrate with our 10+ friends who were already inside. We weren't trying to flaunt the fact that straight people can get married - we know we cannot legally get married.
We ended up at a nearby "straight" club where we were welcomed and announced over the sound system. Everyone cheered for us and made us feel welcome. The attitude of the staff at CC Slaughters really put a damper on what was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives.
Needless to say, we will not be stepping foot in CC Slaughters again.
Ain't what it used to be. Apathetic staff. Music is ok, depending on the night. Security has inferiority complex. Decor is fine. crowd it attracts is mixed.
CC's seems to fathom itself a trendy LA/NY style nightclub. Someone should inform them they are in PDX. Was better when staff was friendly. Used to know a lot of good people there.
I guess the lesbians have to have someplace to go, but this is a men's bar, wish you would find a place you could snatch up and call your own. The biggest problem is the large number of straight couples that come here. They stand on the dance floor, don't dance and just drink and flirt with each other. There are a lot of straight clubs, so you should go try some of them. Drinks are just OK, but the $1 happy hour on Friday and Saturday means tank up and dance your ass off.
I've been going to cc's now for 3 years .. and I've been drunk ! Way drunk spill my drink break many glasses drunk . But last might December 23, 2010 I didn't stand in line for my amazing bartender nemo! Cuz a group of my friends wIred to go to the guy right next to him at the back bar, so I agree to do this so I can join my friends in a yager bomb mind that was my 3 rd drink all night so u can imagine this was a light night for me as I am a heavy drinker. Well I step up and and take this shot with my friends we race I won went to set my glass down but the glass is wet I'm excited It slips Nd breaks on bar , security takes my friend beer ,not even my beer and cuts me off ... just saying bro I will talk shit about Ur drinks from now on and force everyone away from u and to nemo the far better not so agro way less rude bartender ! This place was cool ...
this is the first place I found when I moved to portland and love it. I think I've been to most of the gay bars in portland and always come back. Friendly staff and patrons. Little John (bouncer) always remembers who I am, and the bartenders mix strong drinks and are cute and friendly. It's where I go when I want to shake it on the dance floor, and where I go when I just want to chill in the rainbow room. Besides, it's always free cover!
This must be a money laundering operation cuz its ALWAYS empty, or full of pathetic fag hag wannabes with their pseudo-gay-confused co-workers. Blex! Its always empty cuz: the DJ's suck - and not in a good way - learn how to mix ledthumbs; except for Ira, the bartenders should go to work at the Dirty Duck; and the fat-ass lesbians stink - literally! (Does being butch mean you don't bath for weeks?) Do yourself a favor - avoid this place at all costs! Or you will waste your money for watered down drinks as well as your time! Peace out.
Massive dance floor? Hell no! it's tiny! If CC's really is one of Portland's "largest, loudest, and most high-tech, with serious light effects and laser shows" then Portland sucks. The DJ's don't know how to spin or blend in-between songs, the bar tenders are rude and make half ass drinks and the club has more drama the 90210 show.
I love going to CC Slaughters!! I always have fun! plues the bartenders are HOT! I am a stright girl and I have lots of gay friends and we always hit it up here:) Fun Place and Hotties all over!
Damn, this bar fuckin sucks...how does it stay open?
Horrible music, service, drinks...one would think that the make over would turn it into something fun and exciting...hardly!
C.C. Slaughters was the first night club I got to like in Portland. I'm one of those just -turned-21 people everyone is dissing here and I don't really understand how that makes a bar or club any worse. Youth should make it better. If the club's packed with 40-50 year old homos, then you have a problem. There's a variety of boys, guys and men on Thursdays but that seems to be the only night C.C.'s is hoppin' since the remodeling. I miss the old Rainbow Room but am excited about what the renovations will look like.
The go-go boys are all beefy now too. Not my type. I miss the twinks.
The scene gets old after a while, even the Superstar Divas and the Burlesque Choir Boys are stuck up.
Went to this bar with a few of my gay male friends. met alot of interesting people, The drinks were good for the price. Dancing was fun. Definetly check it out if you dont mind guys checking you out when your not gay...lol other then that was a cool place.
The name alone will keep me from ever going there. Sounds like P.j. Goodbuddy's or sumthin.
I hate downtown anyway.
I really enjoyed myself there on Sunday. The Superstar Diva Show was great and the entertainers there at Open Mic Night were awesome. Miss Victoria randall was excellent. Hopefully she can be a regular there. Work it girl!!!!!
What a joke! This place used to be packed every wknd, but ever since the renovation, it's only hopping on Thur nights (lame jammin 95.5 esque hip hop nights w/ TONS of cig smoke and 21years olds) and bear nights (even worse, tons of hairy predators cheating on their boyfriends). The owners are usually there and I have to wonder, how does this place stay open? Horrible drinks, food, music and atmosphere...avoid at all costs and hit up another place.
CC Slaughters has alot of potential, being located in a prime location of the "Entertainment District" of downtown PDX. The staff is very professional and friendly but the music sucks and the place is dead on Saturday nights. Unless you're into Hip Hop and ugly pathetic fat fags I'd recommend Scandals as an alternative.
Just got back home from a week visit to Oregon. Thought I'd check this place out. Empty, smoky, sleezy, boring. Maybe everyone goes to other bars on Fridays, don't know. Fortunately, no cover, so just wasted my time, not money
Chris @ Slaughters is AWESOME! He is one of the few reason I go to this shithole...great service, great drinks, and always friendly considering all the drunk fags and ugly lesbians with bad attitudes he must endure! it's too smoky, music is britney-vs-sean paul-vs-mariah-vs-missy elliott top 40 shit, but hey, it could be worse (silver-dildo or the refectory!) did i mention this place is WAY TOO SMOKY???...i swear, invest in some venilation! i can't wait for pdx bars to be non-smoking! bar owners: people STILL go out even if your bar is non-smoking, so get over it! anyway, lots of young gay boys who just turned 21, lots of lesbians with attitudes and lots of girls gone wild (straight girls on their periods!) pretending they are strippers for one night, but it's fun nonetheless...don't go alone, go w/ friends...better time had by all!
I went to this bar once. The bartender couldn't hear what drink I was asking for because the music was louder than I could yell, and the bartenders are situated too far away from the people they're serving. When I finally got my drink I was supposed to get a discount because I was a member of Oregon Bears and they were having an event there, but I got charged full price even though I showed my membership card.
What a dump. I used to love Slaughters, but since the remodel and the new owners... Don't waste your time or money. The music sucks, the service doesn't exist.
CC's has a good beer selection but prices are a little high. They are also nazis when it comes to smoking, which is funny, because its a BAR and there are ASHTRAYS there. Watch out.
Hobo's is an excellent choice to replace this shithole with. Go there! You will love it!
Been to Booty 5 or 6 times. SOOooooo fun. I like the east side bars a lot better now too. I enjoy going to the semi gay ones they are fun. Mingle with the folks who think they are not gay, but teehee, we know what they are really thinking ;) I hate C.C's now.
Don't go there on thursdays. Go to Booty at Porky's it is better. I hate CC's now that I have been going to the east side bars. They are a lot better.
CCs rocks, especially on Thursdays. $1 drinks = long lines at the bar but plenty to keep an eye on while you wait. Females will be glad to hear I've never had to wait for a stall.
the below review was meant to be about Silverado, not CC Slaughters.
But, now, talking about CC Slaughters... nice place, good dance music. Mostly nice staff, except for this one jerk named Nathan that has a major attitude problem.
Again I ask though, why do most of the gay bars in Portland feel it's necessary to show porn? I feel it just degrades the atmosphere.
If you like pretty, and not so pretty, young boys, dancing around strutting their stuff, then this is a great place. Like all Portland bars, it is way too smokey! Exhibitionism seems rampant sometimes with dancers, and patron, eager to show off their goods. Drinks are good, staff very polite and friendly.Mix of ages which is nice, although seems to have a flaor of the sugar daddy with young tweeker going on.
