BarFly's Review of Casa Diablo
The much talked about vegan strip club, improbably located on the west edge of the NW industrial district at the foot of Forest Park, known for it's excellent dancers and two-girl sex shows. Huge covered, heated smoking patio (with a view of the sweet thangs on stage), but alas, drinks are not allowed out there.
1x Pool Open everyday 11am-2:30am

My Husband & I were here last Monday night and had a GREAT time! It is by far the best club we've visited so far. We had great views and good lighting from our seats, both at our table, and up at the stage, which were all located at the far end of the stage near the front door,(just FYI). The girls were beautiful and put on great shows and were NOT SHY!!! Yes, they give mini lap dances right at the stage, which is pretty awesome!!! Since I'm female, I was given more attention than my husband was! I had to encourage the girls to 'do to him, what they did to me'...(one of them asked for permission to 'molest me', which she did..(a first for me, I must say!) and finally the beautiful Miss Aqua, politely asked me if she could 'get on him"! Ha ha! I happily said "YES!... PLEASE!!!!" So she climbed down and gave my husband a mini lap dance! : ) We were happy it was Aqua, because she is the one we had both decided on to get a couples lap dance from, but weren't prepared to pay $80 right then..but we'll return again some day and make sure we're prepared!!! BTW...I'm not Lesbian or Bi..but rather a straight female that simply appreciates the beauty and athleticism of the female body, want to learn some moves..and have just discovered how much I enjoy seeing my husband have a good time, and then I get to reep the benefits from it afterwards! ;)
Its the time of year that my favorite stripper comes back to town and she is now where to be found! I went into Casa looking for Ginger. She is a redhead that last time I saw her she had dark hair. She goes to school somewhere that she isnt around except for her breaks. Does she not work at Casa anymore? Does anyone know where she does work?
Casa is a show of its own. The girls are all very pretty but some are either just too quick to want a dance and walk off or they have their regulars. I do not frequent the clubs often but when i do i am there to have a good time and leave enough that a girl can pay her rent. I want a girl that can sit and talk with me, show me her sexy smile and laugh with me and give me the feeling that during a lapdance she likes me and not just my wallet. That was Ginger as she was well educated, had a gentle touch of holding my hand and sexy as they come. Ive been married for 23 years and strange enough Ginger has even suggested ways to make my wife feel sexier and try new things in the bedroom with me.
Im looking for my annual summer sexual pick me up and good night with Ginger!!!!
Casa remains my favorite strip club to date. It's been a while since I've been there. I'd heard they had topless waitresses so when I got there hungry, tired, and thirsty and a mostly naked girl sat next to me welcoming me to the club, I started to give her my order. How embarrassing when she told me she was a dancer, one of the cutest too as I later discovered and that's saying a lot. There were quite a number of women wandering around with little more on than panties sitting and chatting with customers. Of course, most were encouraging lap dances, they are working after all, but I never felt pressured.
I did eventually treat myself to a rare dance. Thanks Sue and happy upcoming birthday. The lap dance room is a bit dark yet not terribly private though probably on par with most places. As I say, lap dances are a rare event for me.
The crowd was pretty good with a bachelor party providing the right festive mood for the dancers and another woman customer who shouted at one of the girls to "TAKE IT OFF, TAKE IT OFF!" to which she happily obliged.
I did try the "Chicken" fajitas. Pretty tasty. Oh, no waitresses were seen though the bartender was topless.
What in the world happened to the head stand girl. She was a bendy little thing with a great ass and amazing dancer. Still love the casa...:)
My wife and I really enjoyed this place before they instituted the cover charge. On the nights the vibe was missing something, we could just walk right out, now with a cover, we aren't sure we want to risk wasting the money. The drink prices also seem to have gone up ... Last spring, a 7&7 would set us back between $5.00 and $5.50 (depending on the server); last weekend (August) the price jumped to $7.50.
We always shelled out a bunch of money...split pretty evenly between the bar and the women. Now, I'm not sure.
Other than my gripe about the cover charge and the raise in drink prices, this place is generally the best club in town...almost always something fun happening, and the women are for the most part very friendly and interactive/attentive.
As I said, we have in the past had a lot of fun...and we will likely return, just not as frequently as before. We will miss having this be the last stop of our date-nights.
Other than the girl contantly fingerbanging her asshole, this place wasn't bad. They should probably have more than one server (she was nice enough, but we were ignored for at least 30 minutes), but the drinks weren't too expensive or too watered down. The girls weren't bad, especially the gymnast girl doing back flips, with the sexy ripped fishnets...aside from her being barefoot. Her blackened feet kinda killed my mood. Then the fingerbanger...that was disgusting.
It was my fiance and my first time at Casa. We showed up at midnight on a Friday night. It was packed! The only seats available were at the rack. I would have loved to sit back against the wall just to get comfortable but that was not an option. These women were completely hands on whether you wanted them to be or not. I had tits brushed against my face and one stripper actually kissed me! Another tried to pull my boob out to suck on it. The other men at the rack couldn't keep their eyes off of us, especially my fiance! I do have bigger tits and they seemed to be into that! We will definitely go back but last night was really busy and everything was so intense! Not a bad thing at all but it would be an awesome experience after you get warmed up. We will be going back!
I love naked sexy ladies, so when I walked in to Casa I was very pleased to find beautiful fun women walking around half naked. The drinks are cheap, the lap dances are freaking AMAZING, and the music isn't too bad either. I have passed this place many times on my way home and finally decided to go and check out this divvy little place. When I walked in I was surprised to see the tall ceilings and huge stage area. If you are looking to have a cheap drink and look at boobies for free...probably not your place. If you are down to have a wild time with very beautiful women then Casa Diablo is a must for you. The best strip club in Portland by far.
OK, this place is not that sleazy at all. looks crappy from the outside, and driving to the industrial area is not too thrilling, but, the inside is very well laid out. Girls are H.O.T....and a lot of fun too. I did not come across a stuck-up b*tch all night. The stage shows are one of a kind because the ladies come all the way down and give you a mini lapdance, provided you tip them a buck or two. Drinks are reasonable. I got the attention of this demi moore look alike, and on her second stage dance, she climbed off the stage and sat on my lap, in the nude, facing me, and stuck her beautiful double Ds in my face. I think I fell in love at that point. Did I mention she was about six foot tall, bodacious, and a very, very sexy dancer? God I wish I knew her name. Can anyone help? She is the only one with big boobs in there with the exception of the topless waitress. The only downside to this place....$35 for lapdances. I did not know about this, and this girl said she only does 3 for $100. Now, I am an avid stripclubber, and have never seen any stripper hotter than her, and if I did have that kind of money on me, I probably would have oblidged. But, I can get double the dances from a nude woman at any other club. Oh, btw, PDX clubs do suck ass compared to other cities. The mileage is very low, and girls are hot, but skinny hot. I like 'em slightly thicker. I went to another club and was quoted $20 for a dance, fully clothed. Nude ones only allowed in VIP, which I was quoted $250/30 min. Its quality that counts, portland, not quantity. overall, my night was disappointing because I did not get so much so as a dance, but whats-her-face made it up with her very cool attitude.
Casa does not impress upon me the typical PDX strip club expo. The elongated stage and vaulted ceilings first of all are a nice touch. Wherever you decide to place yourself you see a rotation of approximately a dozen dancers rotating with one song. They are quite interactive taking it upon themselves to interact with or upon you at any moment. The $35.00 private dance suggested donation is different it is true. More of a less seedy Acrop or less annoying S. Cali strip club might be the best comparison. Worth a look.
Been to a few clubs in PDX though as a non-native I can't say I have the best idea of the general quality of the area. That said, the girls I saw tonight at Casa Diablo are pretty hot, definitely would hold there own at any club in Vegas, LA or NY that I have visited. They get naked quick and a single on the rail will get you plenty of personal attention. That being said, I am confused by the previous comments on how great the lap dances are at La Casa. I have been to a couple of other P-land strip clubs where there are only a couple of dancers working so I can understand the lack of lappies, but at Diablo, there was plenty of hot chicas, just NO ONE was getting a lap dance. I sat there for an hour, content with my booze and the show but with cold hard cash burning a hole in my pocket and still got no love from the ladies. I thought that maybe I was the social outcast of the venue, but alas, no one else got one either; the girls weren't even talking to any of the customers. Is this standard fare in the Pacific NW? It just seems weird, especially given the rep of a good dance here. Dancing for singles from the rail every 30 mins or so seems an incredibly unproductive way for such attractive women to spend their time.... what gives?
I called a friend and ask if he wanted to go to a hot Club I heard about and we are so gald we went. We staded the hole night and all the dancers were hot. I don't get a lot of lap dances (cheap) But WOW there is this girl dark hair and tall HOT HOT I would have paid her 50,00 oh I did. We will be there alot and I have been to a lot of clubs, this one is the best in Portland. Take your lady they love girls. Mr Happy!
This club rocks for many reasons~ 1. The dancers here are fantastic!! You can tell that the dude who owns this joint is very selective about the girls that work there.. Sure the 35$ dances are a little spendy but if you have ever gotten one there you would know why and would be willing to buy more than one. 2. I am not vegan but the food there is delicious! I don't know the cooks name but she definatly knows what she is doing in the kitchen 3. The bar keeps getting better and better, they have remodled it recently and upon my last visit they seemed to have restaffed the bartenders with faster ones, and I like that. 4. The Dj there on the weekend is great! he is fun and really gets the crowd involved in this giant party 5. again.... the dancers are really something special here, the 2 girl sex shows are insane and fun to watch. I even saw 2 girls using toys on stage there once! and one girl lights her boobs on fire too, which always seems to be a crowd pleaser! Go Casa Diablo!
Maybe I just have a thing for girls that look like they are enjoying themselves. I didn't see that here. I felt creeped out the second I passed through the doors. I hoped the feeling would pass, so I ordered a drink and some food.
Nice, expensive stage and all, but I couldn't get over how it just felt like Johnny Diablo's Desperate Girls House, rather than a good-time strip club. I never liked the guy when it was Pirate's Tavern, but I was willing to give him a second chance. No more.
Love the place. Some friends brought me here well over a year ago...and at first, I was a little taken off guard. It was really dark inside and just had a different "vibe" to it than other local strip clubs. Wasn't sure what to think. This is a place that has to grow on you...come back a few times and you'll probably become a regular. I had heard good stories of the private dances so about 4 or 5 months later I came back and ended up getting one and it was great (yeah expensive though). The girls are for the most part really nice and real people. If you're nice to them, they are very approachable and easy to converse with (some guys care about this and some don't I've realized).
The only recommendation I have for the place, because it seems to be drawing consistently larger crowds, is that they do something about the bar. The bartender(s) are working hard but the bar is kind of small and people tend to start crowding around making it difficult to get a drink swiftly, without being pushy.. and then you have people directly behind you trying to play pool, which makes it kind of a cluster on a busier night. A few more seats around the perimeter might serve the place well also, at least on those busier nights.
After spending 10 years avoiding strip clubs, I decided to try Casa. Boy was I glad I did. The girls are great. No flabby, fakes. 100% Hot, friendly, and they really give an amazing show. Free Pool, chess, and a heated smoking area add to a great time. Johny is very gracious and welcoming.
When I look around, I think that the devil would be as comfortable and welcome as we are here. He would love the theme, the red lights, the great artwork, and the amazing girls.
BTW, there is one there that has a tat of a red heart with black wings. When she dances under the red lights, her heart disapears. Its amazing the transformation.
If you dont enjoy casa diablo, pull the stick out of your ass or give up on women.
2nd time i been to this place.and Its the bestest one i been so far.Everyone has been nothing but friendly since i been there. The dancers are a really friendly, not your typical hustler. Some are but Hey, they are just doing their Job.The Food is good I had one Burger there so far,i never ate at any Bar,Pub before and yeah they are Vegans but the Burger still tasted like any normal one ha.Totally recomended it to everyone.
Stopped in here with a couple of friends, ended up practically staying the night! We all fell in love with the place, great girls, super sexy! I have never been to a strip club like this ever, and will definitely be returning. . . perhaps this time I'll even bring the boyfriend!
This place is often slow businesswise because it's out of the way. This means strippers will talk to you. They really want you to buy a $35 lapdance but considering there's a place called Carnaval downtown that gives you a $10 topless couch dance or $20 full nude couch dance, it doesn't seem worth it. Sorry people. But there's a lot of other things I can do with $35. But for a couple of bucks on the stage the dancers might grab your head and beat it with her boobs. That always gets points in my book. And the topless bartender is a total bonus.
The owner is good at chess s if you're out of practice don't bother. There's a pool table and free wifi. I don't eat a lot at strip clubs but the food is all vegan. I'm not even vegetarian so this doesn't do much for me. Though I appreciate those who do live that way, it's better for the earth and such. I just am a picky eater and like my meat. the owner does give a little bit of that used car salesman scumbag vibe but all in all I think he's just a guy makin' a buck who has no more and no less respect for women then I do. Okay, maybe a little less as going to strip clubs is a guilty pleasure and not a full time occupation, but none-the-less, he makes himself available in a way to be judged along with his establishment so I give him props for that. I will be back, just not sure when because it is way out there if you're biking. If you're driving it's just a few minutes away.
WOW. The girls here are amazing. They come down off the stage and give lapdances during their show, the most attention you can get in town without getting a private dance. Well worth the drive. Best dancers in town.
After hearing the rave reviews about this place, I was pretty excited to stop by in here to check it out. I was hoping that it was a lot better than the Pirate's Tavern that used to be here before.
This place wasn't horrible but it wasn't impressive either.
Lets start with bad: -The super short bar just felt awkward when ordering drinks. -The lighting is just horrible... seriously there are enough strip clubs in this town to learn from on how to light your place. -No credit cards? Really? What are we in 1980? I bring cash for the girls, not for my drinks. -The walk to the patio to smoke was kind of pointless to me. I can see the patio, I can see people drinking and smoking on the patio, but yet I have to walk all the way to the entrance to get to the patio. It's easier to walk to the parking lot. -Vegan? I doubt it. The bar menu consisted of Cheeseburgers, Chili, and Sloppy Joes. I know that you can have vegan burgers but cheese is not vegan. Also, I know there is vegan Chili but how the hell do you make sloppy joes vegan? Isn't that just a ketchup sandwich?
The good: -I really like the stage. Much better than most strip clubs where it is just a circle with a pole. I can see that if this place got busy, you could easily get 2 girl shows going on. -The drinks were fairly stiff after tipping the bartender. -The girls really work for there tips. They really try to work there customers and do pole tricks which seems to be less and less common these days.
Overall, I think this place is going to go down the road of the Pirate's Tavern. I went in on a Fri night and the place was less than 25% filled. It's too far out to go for a mediocre club. This town has too many clubs that are actually in decent locations for me to go back again.
Girls with great attitude. Some flabby, some slim but look for the beauties. They will show you a good time, including the manager who is probably the most customer friendly I have ever seen in a strip joint. Beer is OK. I would rather have a plain salad than the vegan here.
Casa Diablo rocks, plain and simple. My friends and I went there for our last stop on the bachelor party tour, and it was great because we did save the best for last. Bianca Boru and Miss Love put on the sexist two-girl set one could ask for... very hot! I definitely recommend asking them to do a two-girl private dance set, well worth the money and you will leave very satisfied with the experience... both girls were extremely sexy, very accomodating, and very nice to boot! The staff is great, very courteous and professional to their clients. We will be back, even without the excuse of a bachelor party... we're from Seattle, and this club and their dancers is better than what we have around here, no doubt.
i think casa is one of the cleanest clubs in Portland, its a great place to dance and johnny is awesome. the music is always good and the food is very good...even if your not vegan. i love this place and i cant wait to go back.
From a dancer's perspective, Casa Diablo is a great place to work and a nice addition to the Portland strip club scene. I've been dancing in the Portland area for several years, and I've worked in nearly every strip bar, large and small, in this great city! Here's my impression of the plusses and minuses of Casa:
Here are the Plusses: 1.) Non-smoking, yet it has a fabulous smoking patio, so smokers and non-smokers can both have a good time.
2.) Genuine, pleasant, and professional bar staff and owner. Everyone that works there has treated me with fairness and respect for what I do and how hard my job is sometimes. I'm pretty comfortable just being myself here, which in stripper talk speaks volumes about the place.
3.) Unlike nearly all other Portland clubs, no seedy drug scene, skanky prostitutes, or high drama dancers (and believe me, I've seen it all in my dancing career, so this is really a triump).
4.) Vegan. While I'm not vegan myself, I'm also not offended by people and businesses that are vegan (it's a free country, after all). Everyone there knows I'm not vegan, and its never been an issue. (However, I do refrain from wearing silk.) I've become addicted to the Diablo burgers!! Additionally, Casa has generated a lot of hype because of its unique business format, and people come to Casa who otherwise might not visit a strip club at all. I've met quite a few travelers who came just to visit the world's first vegan strip club!
5.) The money. Being that I'm on the receiving end of the cash flow there. . .the money has to be good for me to keep coming back. Yes, the dances are more that the PDX norm of $20, but they're couch dances (versus table dances), and trust me, worth every extra penny. . .
And here are the minuses: 1.) Its a strip club in Portland. Casa, like all the other clubs around, has the unfortunate task of trying to earn a profit in a city where the money is just spread too thin. And like all the other clubs around, Casa can be prone to things like slow periods. I recently worked a shift at another club which stood completely empty for three hours, and I've found that there are no strip clubs around that are consistently busy. In addition to uneven business flow, Casa sometimes has to deal with things like flakey dancers, cheap customers, and other typical strip club issues. This is not an easy industry!!
2.) Not everyone likes the vegan aspect. For some reason, sometimes customers are insulted by the vegan menu. Why in the world they take this personally, especially when there are ten million other clubs in town and Portland is supposed to be "alternative friendly," is beyond me, but they do complain sometimes. I've long since given up trying to understand men, I just make my money off of them. . .
3.) It's in an industrial neighborhood, of which most Portlanders are not familiar. It's actually quite close to downtown and the NW neighborhoods, but it can be hard to find if you don't have good directions or a map.
Casa Diablo is a little out of the way, but I've grown to quite like it. The food is better than I expected for being vegan and most is $5 or less. Alcohol prices are average, and the bartender Jessica is quite good (and hot). She makes a wicked Tuaca Sidecar.
The owner Johnny is friendly yet unobtrusive, generally offering to shoot pool with you or even go a round of chess. He spends a lot of time getting to know his customers, which is admirable.
The DJs play a good selection and hip-hop seems to be excluded from the playlists. Also noteworthy is that the DJ doesn't beg the audience to pay the strippers, every 30 seconds. More clubs would do well to follow suit.
My only real complaint is that lap dances are $35 (!!!) and the lap dance room is so dark that you can't see the girl that's right in front of you.
Overall, I recommend it.
I really like this place! The location is out of the mainstream, but easy to get to. It's less than a mile and a half from the Fremont Bridge, so if I'm somewhere on 23rd, casa Diablo is my next stop. Johnny welcomes me like family, the girls are hot, and they have a really nice pool table, which is free. I LOVE that I can enjoy pool, beer, and hot naked girls without stinking of cigarette smoke.
Well, I guess I'm in the minority, as usual! I rather like the place! The two bartenders, day and night, have been great! The owner, Johhny, also has been really cool with me! I never was in here, when it was the Pirates Cove, so I don't have any correlation to offer, but as I've stated, he's been good to me! Maybe, if you naysayers learned to tip, a little better, you might start having better experiences, wherever you go! Lighting does suck and the food, well, I like meat, so I can't comment. My drinks are always good, but it's hard to mess up a shot of Maker's Mark and a beer, no matter where I go! Anyway I will be going back and did just last night! Happy 420, to Karla, Jesse, Johnny and several of the dancer's!
Horrible food, the owner was an ass, the lighting terrible & drinks were to much $$$. The only things the place had going for it were the girls and the smoke free atmosphere.
Buy a drink, get a free 'lunch' served all day, The food was perfectly fine, the fries were slightly salty, but were nicely crisp and not your soggy type.
Johnny came up to us and talked to us when we first came in there and explained things.
The women were hot, but several of them seemed a bit concentrated on chit chatting to get a lap dance from the customers. For awhile, we were concerned the women weren't going to take all of their clothes off, but that turned out to be just a couple of them.
Yes, the women like to place their legs on your shoulders and so on...I would have never thought a person would complain about that, at a strip club.
Another smoke-free club just opened up — Lucky Devil Lounge. They do have a patio where you can smoke. The girls are hot and the staff seems cool.
I've been a vegan for 14 years, but what drew me to this place was that is the only smoke-free strip club I've ever heard of in Portland.
Places like the Magic Garden and Mary's have great girls, but I can't deal with the blue-cloud of death.
Casa Diablo has terrible lighting. There's a huge neon beer sign on the far wall, so if you're at an of the tables that flow along the long dance floor, all you're going to see are silhouettes.
The food was decent. I didn't get any free food for buying a drink, as was advertised on their website and tv news interview.
One stripper with huge fake knockers would put her legs over the shoulders of guys sitting up at the stage, with her ass or crotch centimeters from their face, and then wiggle around. This is with half her weight on their shoulders.
I ordered a Hennessy, which was underpoured into a regular glass, and charged $6 for the small sip.
The owner came out, leaning on my friends' chair, with some unwanted chatter. I mentioned having been to the pirate's tavern, though I didn't mention I had gotten burned so bad there I had vowed never to return (that would have been paying $10 for a meal which I think the chef accidentally poured a half-shaker of salt into my "pirate burger").
I had been to the Pirate's Tavern four or five times while I worked at Montgomery Park, for lack of vegan options. Each time the service was absolutely terrible, the food was way overpriced, and the area is the pits.
While he was hanging over our table, I mentioned to the owner of Casa Diablo that the Pirate's Tavern likely went out of business due to the location, to which he replied that people made a 3 hour drive from Seattle to eat there. Well, if it was so great, it would still be around, wouldn't it? Evidently, this guy owned that, too.
The girls were not worth it, the food was not worth it, and the drive out to the boonies was not worth it.
