Thurs: Ladies night ($1 beers, $2 wine/coolers).
F/Sat $3 cover, no cover otherwise.
Sun closed. Dance lessons nightly (line dancing to swing).
Call for schedule (and for directions, if you're unfamiliar).

I came back recently as I love to dance with people I know that love to dance. I love the atmosphere, the service is great and most people are really nice. However, I reached out to one person that was a regular. Just said something that they didn't like and got my head bit off. I could tell that they ran the roost and didn't like any new blood coming into their territory. It is unfortunate. Cliques are like a festering sore that won't heal. Wonder why management doesn't do something about it and whether they get complaints about this all the time. I think it really does affects ratings and business. However, I will continue to go back for the dancing as that is my passion for going. Love the place other than that issue.
We drive up from seattle to party and we bring our friends also.We make the drive three times or more a year.We are on our way this weekend :}
Remodeled and back under management of original owners. Place looks awesome now! Great service and tons of hot girls there.
Its a great place to go country dancing. The dance f loor is spacious and the music loud but that's where the goodness ends. Mediocrity sums up the food and service. I had to track down a server who took my order and returned promptly with my order of mediocre food. I guess I should have gone to McDonald's where you know the food is bad. The next time I saw the server was to present me with my bill. I am sure business would thrive if they had food servers that that waited on you and served real food. I will give the food one more chance although it is hard to screw up a hamburger
I will return to dance but I may be cautious about ordering any food there again. I will eat before I go next time
i was killing time and wanted a bite before i saw a movie. sat at a table, browsing menu. i dont see an employee in site, but i see people drinking, so someone must be here. sit for 5 mins. go to bar...someone must be over there. wait a few minutes before anyone comes out. serves some food to people next to me. looks right at me and walks away. comes out a second time, hands my neighbors some onions, wanders around the bar for a sec, looks at me again, walks away. i leave. maybe you'll have better luck, i'll go elsewhere.
You should get your cover charges right! This site says $3.00 and the sin on your door says $5.00! Having a cover charge is stupid anyway!
Typing a word in the box below....It says "proves you are a human" WHAT DO YOU THINK? ....A MONKEY IS RESPONDING????? HOW DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!
I was an original waitress there when they first opened, and it doesn't seem to have changed much. Had not been there in about 6 years and went in one night for a girls night out and had a blast, yes some of the same faces, but still friendly, we ended up having my bacholerette party there about a year ago and we try to go every few weeks, we were there this past weekend to see Dean Brody and as always had a great time. The waitress needed a personality change and was overwhelmed very easy, but she still smile and was nice, maybe it was her 1st night!!!
My girlfriends and I go to BW on a Saturday night once every few months. It's ALWAYS a fun time. We like to hang on the south side of the floor - furthest from the drunks and nearest the regulars. The staff and regular patrons are always incredibly friendly, it's wide open, well-lit and clean. I appreciate going somewhere I can dance and visit with friends and make new friends without getting men aggressively hitting on us.
Bushwackers blows....in fact, all these poser country bars in PDX are sell-outs....whatever happened to the real country bars like The Drum during the early and mid 90's...fights were fights, the music was live, the chicks were hot, and best of all you couldnt bitch about shit on the internet!!! (like I'm doing..) I miss the good old days...now the only real deals left are the LetRbuck room in Pendleton and Behind the Chutes in Ellensburg....if you dont know these places, I understand how you could be satisfied with places like Dukes and Bushwankers...See you at round-up...Cheers
I have been in this place many times but I don't think I will be going back.
Stopped by there at lunch time to get a burger and sat at a table for almost 30 minutes. No one ever came and waited on me I finally got up and left.
About 3 years ago I was in Portland to take care of my brother. My fist night there I asked about a place to country dance and was recommended this place. I went during the week and had a blast. Very friendly people, but as stated above, there are definetely clicks. I felt like I was at my cw bar in California. However, the people were friendly, so I went back on Saturday night. It was so crowded it was harder to meet people, but a cowboy did give up his bar stool for me. I did get a few two steps in, and some line dancing - even though you guys in Oregon do them a little different than us in California, but I respected it was your place. Overall, I'll definetely go back next time I'm in Oregon.
I love this place. I go about once a week for food and drinks. I never line dance, but it's fun to watch. GREAT PLACE if you like the low key atmosphere.
Right about the staff- they're great! When I first started going, I felt like I was walking into Cheers. Everyone knew me.
Everyone there does know everyone's business and if you go there regularily at all, even if they don't know you they'll talk about you. Alfred is the only cool dude there! Service and staff are fantastic, music went downhill with the live band on the weekend. Otherwise music and most of the dance instructors are wonderful. One or two are not - simply greasy linemen looking to score easily on the admittedly hot women that come here. You decide, but watch your back
I loved this bar. Loved the dancing with my guy, BUT the only thing is the people there talk like crazy!!! RUMORS RUMORS RUMORS!!! It's like no one can mind their own damn business at all. I'm sick of it. It's actually really too bad. I probably will never set foot their again and I have been going there for almost two years now. I hope one day that shit stops, but who knows what people are going to end up like. It's sad. Staff is GREAT!!!! Customers,(most of them) are awful.
Love to go there, play pool and listen to some great country music! Pool tables always open! Helloooooooooooo Ladies!!!!!
Easily the best country bar in Oregon! Service is awesome, everyone is very friendly, and oh by the way, it is one of the safest bars I have ever seen! Thank god we don't have to go out to the slums or downtown Portland to have a great time. Kinda funny some of the other comments, I've been going there for about 5 years and have never seen a cop when I left. lol. The other comment, not a friendly bar? Some hot ladies there every night make the atmosphere alot better too. Best bar in Portland area!
Demise of the Rock N' Rodeo (which was a much better local country spot) gave this place a big boost back around '97 - '98. I have noticed and so have friends over the years that this is the most unfriendly country bar in odd ways. Almost every other country bar on the planet has friendly folks who welcome strangers in - not here - it has always been this way. I once went to a country bar in California of all places that was just flooded with nice, open, friendly folks ... then returned here ... I thought I had FU tattooed on my forehead or something :).
A funny sidenote - I did not go here for 4-5 years, then went by, and all the same people were there! - I know a few. Maybe that is why if you are an outsider you should choose somewhere else. lol
The pool area has two tables, which are never open on weekend evenings, just fyi.
Don't go alone unless you are well adept at handing small groups that like to stick to themselves. The staff is excellent. No long dramatic speeches or unnecessary chatter from the DJ (unlike Dukes) - 99% music - which is great.
Its remote location from Downtown - 15m out to Tualatin - has one distinct disadvantage. If you like to drink and drive (I don't) - this is not the place. The cops buzz around this place from 1am-2am like flies on poop. For a long time I drove a jacked up truck - lol - and the cops would follow me all the way home to near Portland - not kidding. We would always laugh about that. If you have more than two drink an hour, you won't be laughing though.
Last, but not least, if you are a pick up artist and you want a challenge, go here. The women are nothing to write home about, but have attitudes galore. It is like they are raised on Oprah. Look, I am not fat I'm big boned. And proud of it. Guys here have told me many times that if you can get laid here, you can get some ANYWHERE. Not because the women are hot though lol.
We feel like we are at home here! Love this place and all our pals there!
The atmosphere and people there are awesome!!!
