Back Alley

REALLY? I play pool on Monday eves, one of the hideous places we have to play is the back Alley. We are constantly forced to listen to Metal Monday. the mood in the bar turns quiet and the pool players are trying to hurry to get out of there, usually there are no other patrons "enjoying" the metal Monday. We have asked the dj to change the SCREAMING noise he plays to atleast something we can understand, his response? laughter.... The atmosphere in this place can be unwelcoming. stear clear if your looking for a quiet place to talk and visit.

Karaoke, Really??

Being an avid karaoke singer and a out of work KJ, I was looking forward to getting back into this after taking about 5 year hiatus and this was the first recommended site here in Vancouver that I found. While I can tell for the most part that this is a "Blue Collar" bar with a mixed crowd depending on which night of the week your in here, the karaoke setting is uncomfortable and while the music is not overly loud, there are not a lot of singers and the host doesn't have command of his equipment and allows music to "double over itself" meaning having two songs playing at the same time. While the host does try to get recent singers to sing again, which is OK but seems to be pushy at times about it.

Bartenders are very friendly and are for the most part quick to serve you. I found the prices here reasonable but the cleanliness of the restrooms had something to be desired and need upkeep and repair.

Atmosphere

This place could be a place i could call home if not for a few things. 1. The stench from the mens bathroom is to much. Was told its because of bad plumbing. Maybe a $2.00 urinal brick and a daily bleach scrubbing would help. Just saying. 2. The Karaoke music is way to loud. No conversation can be held, even up stairs at the bar without shouting at one another. the food is great for bar food. And the regulars are all good people.

Place needs rescued

Do you like dive bars? This is pretty bad. Except dive bars usually have charactor and friendly service. our bartender was more interested in her boyfriend the dj and singing him a lovey song than serving us. Place reeks and was dead, cant be open for very longer.

karaoke

Been here several times over the years - karaoke never gets any better. The host lets the regulars up, and up, and up, but if you are new there you don't get a chance to sing. Also plays the music so loud you can't hear yourself to sing or talk to the group you are with. Not sure if I will try coming in again or not.

Younger Crowd

We went there to karaoke because we were told it is a karaoke bar. We NEVER got up to sing. They let one person sing then the DJ would play about 5 dance songs. So if you are going there because you are wanting to sing karaoke - I would have to give this club an F. However, it looks like a really fun place if you are in your 20's and want to drink and play pool or visit with your friends. We felt way too old to be in there (40ish) and were uncomfortable. Also, it seemed that most people were in groups (clicks). Did not seem like a good place if you are single looking to meet other singles. I want to note that we have only gone there twice but we have no desire to go back.

Me Likey

Good place to hang out, we live pretty close and it's our choice when we can get away from the kiddies. Lots of regulars kinda dominate the Karaoke stage, but we always have fun here:)

Fun times - Interesting crowd

Found this place via a lifelong Vancougar friend and had a pretty good time here. A little cramped but some decent karoke and everyone in the crowd was out to have a good time. Dropped in on a Thursday night. I'll be back.
