BarFly's Review of Analog
Bi-level club features live rock and DJs most nights. It looks link it was transported straight from early '90s Sunset Boulevard, and settles in to its own unique niche on the usually predictable Hawthorne Ave.
Not a big expensive theater, nor a hole-in the wall dive, the Analog lies somewhere in between, filling a void on Portland's live music landscape. It's a casual music venue in which you don't have to stand in a puddle of dumped PBR with a sweaty guy's armpit in your face.
The downstairs is loungy and spread out, lots of couches and alcoves to cozy up to an object of desire. The upstairs is an intimate escape with its own little bar.
The food is upscale, made by a chef with a purpose.
Regular events include dark burlesque acts mingled with rock bands.
Open 3pm-2am, daily.
$2-5 menu, $3 select domestic beers, $4 micros, 3pm-6pm, Monday-Friday.

Probably the nicest bar I've been to that caters to the Satyricon crowd. Don't feel you have to be into that scene to go there the staff doesn't give a shit how you're dressed. Me and the boyfriend are pretty square looking and in our 40's so we did feel kinda old to be there on that particular night (Goth Night? Something like that)but still had fun. We figured the other patrons assumed we were the parents of one of the band members or something. Maybe in a few years when his kids get older, who knows? Oh and you can drink at a table that's right out on the road, so there's that.
